An older pencil drawing after a picture shot by Edward S. Curtis in 1904.

Edit: I'm just making new scans of some of my older pencil works. I hope nobody minds the resubmission. :hmm:

Awesome work. I have a book on Edward Curtis with this pic in it. It looks just like the photograph.

I DONT! ITS GOOD TO STILL SEE NATIVE WORK BEING DONE! I DID THE SAME DRAWING OF THIS FOR A PROJECT LIKE 3 OR 4 YEARS AGO! I NEVER SUBMITTED IT THOUGH, IT WAS FOR A SCHOOL PROJECT

Edward Curtis did some amazing shots. I remember watching a documentary about all the images he captured of the Native Americans on the documentary channel.
You did a fantastic job with the details and shading!! Very photorealistic - must of you took you hours and hours to complete. You should be very proud of this piece.

I have to say, of all your works, this one strikes home the hardest, and strongest. I think it's because this is in black and white; it gives me a strong feel of the old black and white photographs that were taken of these people.

He looks very proud; very strong, that inner strength that is so characteristic of the native americans really shows through here. I almost wish you would do one of an Inuit, it would be really nice to see how you do it, but there aren't really a whole lot of images online I don't think of the arctic first nations like there are of the american first nations.

In either case - like someone said up above - do not stop doing your work. It is beautiful, striking, and powerful and a huge asset to the artistic community, regardless of whether or not some highbrow art gallery proprietor thinks it's good 'enough'. The fact that you recieve so many comments, the fact that so many people feel the need to fav your images, speaks highly enough and tells you that your work DOES affect people. And that's a good thing. ^_^

Thank you very much for this nice and encouraging statement! I can assure you that there will be more Native American drawings coming from me, no matter if they're requested or not. I do this just because I like it so much (and I have an Inuit reference photo by Curtis, which I want to realize in the future, but I have some other plans right now).

Thanks again for liking the drawings! :)
